I am sad because I cannot participate this Saturday June 1, in this endeavor. If you are over 60 and just want to have fun, swing a bat, and play the field this is the the place. Thank you don Ball for getting this going again and I cannot wait until next Saturday to suit up and play. Hope to see many old friends.
It bums me out to think of Fred Pidgeon being sad. I thought I'd never see the day; he's always smiling and laughing and hitting line drives. Then I realized that I've only ever seen him on the baseball field, his happy place, and I guess he's never sad on the diamond. He broke up a little no-hitter in last night's 5-inning game between the Whiz Kids and the Pirates. Crack, a blistering liner right up the middle for the Pirates' first and only hit of the game. That's Mr. Pidgeon, it's what he does. I always enjoy watching him play. He understands what this is all about.
