Mike Kane and Joe Burns combined on a 5-hitter, and the Whiz Kids backed them with 14 hits in an 8-3 victory over the Cards. The Whiz scored solo runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings, then plated 5 in the 5th, the big blow being a bases clearing triple by Burns. Leading the offense for the Whiz were Dennis Buckley 2-2, John Cortese 2-2, Kane 2-2, and Bob Holmes 2-3. Ageless Jerry Hawkins went 2-2 for the Cards. Good to be playing baseball again!
