The CDMSBL Board of Directors met at The Arsenal City Tavern on Monday January 28, 2019. Members present were Don Ball, Chris Abrams, Lex Herrlett, John Reel, Don Wixon, John Kalinski and Bob Noto. Excused due to work: Tom Smith, Will Coons, Jim Konstantakis. Here is a recap as to what transpired. Don Ball spoke on the progress being made on the combination Banquet/Hall of Fame induction.Several ideas for this event were discussed. Don will be meeting with the current Hall of Fame members as to their expectations and will report back at the next meeting. The umpire issue as to which group or groups to use this season has not been finalized yet. There is also a question in the 55 Division as two whether one or two umpires will be utilized for games during the regular season. Some feelers from baseball organizations about the CDMSBL utilizing their playing facilities have been made to the Board. More information will be sought by the BOD. There was a discussion about the Capital Division and the Matinee Division about the numbers of players available to fill these Divisions especially on the weekends when some of these players play in a Sunday Division game.Will they still be willing to play on both days on the weekend. This will be discussed further at the next meeting. The new agreement with the MSBL has been signed. John Kalinski presented the 45 Division plan for approval. A motion was made by John Reel and seconded by Don Ball that a stipulation be added to the plan that a holding team be made available to the Commissioner for any new players wishing to come into the league as a forming team. By doing this new players will have an opportunity to play and not be forgotten as the season progresses. A website developer is still being sought to improve the leagues website. The next meeting has been scheduled for February 12, 2019 at The Arsenal City Tavern at 6pm. All meetings are open to league members. The meeting adjourned at 8:40. Submitted by Bob Noto.
