Good day for the Shaskys as we beat the Warriors 9 - 3 and the Red Sox 8 - 1. What wins playoff games?

Pitching - Jimmy T in game one and Mark Callahan in game two pitching complete game victories and limiting two good-hitting teams to a total of four runs.

Defense - The majority of outs were grounders in the infield. 3B TP Burns, SS Tim Burns, 2B Steve Hughes and 1B Dennis Lane played error-free for 14 innings.

Timely Hitting - The Shaskys hit at least eight doubles and had at least five two-out, RBI hits to score runs up and down the line-up.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

The Shaskys lost 6 - 5 in a walk-off to the Black Sox then beat the Red Sox 10 - 4 to advance to the next round of the playoffs.

The Shaskys scored four runs in the top of the 1st against the Black Sox only to see the Sox put up three in their half of the inning. The Black Sox scored one more in the second to tie the game. The score remained tied until the 7th. Tim Burns reached 1st on a dropped third strike, was bunted to second and scored on a Mark Callahan single. The Black Sox put runners on base with an error and a cue shot between the mound and first base. A solid single to left by Collucio scored the tying and winning runs. The Black Sox advance as the 7th seed.

The Shaskys drove to their home field of Watervliet for a rematch of the 2017 final game against the Red Sox who would be playing their third game of the day. Jimmy T took the mound and pitched a commanding seven innings limiting the Red Sox to two earned runs. The Shaskys' bats stayed hot highlighted by a Tim Burns triple that sparked the go-ahead rally. Through a combination of courtesy runners, pinch runners and substitutes every player on the Shaskys roster contributed to our winning this year's war of attrition. The Shaskys are the #8 seed.

Looking forward to next weekend.

Congrats to the Black Sox and the Shaskys!

I think this demonstrates the NEED to keep the B Tournament for future seasons. Neither the Black Sox nor the Shaskys make the A playoffs nor would they be able to compete for a championship if we eliminated the B Tournament. The system works. Lets keep it!

Go get em boys!
