Cardinals defeated the Twins last night 9-3 at NS. After being totally thrashed by the Twins 14-2 last week, the Cards brought in 33 Dirtbags manager Jeff Friedman to pitch who had seen action in just 2 Cardinal games this season before last night. Friedman was the fastest and most effective pitcher the Twins had seen this season . Friedman departed for a 33's game after 4 innings leaving the Cardinals in good shape with an 8-2 lead.

Each team had just 2 errors and the Twins were without some key players. Stefan Koutsakis pitched well in relief for the Twins giving up just one hit, one unearned run and striking out 4 in the final 3 2/3 innings
