The Capital Division will have its first game this Saturday at Bleeker Stadium. We have openings for three players. The players in this game are 55 - 70 years young.
Warm-ups start at 10:30 AM. Game will start at 11:00. There is a $10 fee to play.

Indeed. While a modest beginning it got off on a well grounded footing. We owe a lot to Don and the players commitment thus far. This division can serve many purposes and the league will continue to support it and its expansion. We hope to have it be the "front door" to the league and welcome players on a field when they cannot or do not want to play in the age divisions. While the game Saturday illustrated filling that need for players 60+ we hope to provide similar events on an ongoing basis for any age player who finds us. A major problem we have had is that players find us on their own and its often after teams reorganize in the off season and there is no place to play and are told to call back next year. In conjunction with the creation of the Capital Division the league will start marketing ourselves in an organized way. We plan to revamp the website, and will man a booth at the June 15th ValleyCats game. Other venues and strategies are being discussed. So glad we can now point new players to the Capital Division. Don also mentioned, now that the season has started he'd need help with the division if it goes beyond the 60+ game on Saturday mornings. We'll see to it that he gets that help and you can contact me or Don about that if interested. Don is a doer but his hands are full with managing a new 55 team, playing in the 45 and 55 division and his BOD work.
