I have had the pleasure of knowing Jesse Braverman for many years as a teammate on the Whiz Kids. He is always ready to do whatever the team needs, be it as a player, BP pitcher, fungo hitter, etc. Don't let the "aw, shucks" persona fool you. He is as tough a competitor as anyone. But he is more than that. He is truly one of the finest gentleman in all of CDMSBL. Just ask anyone who has ever met him.
Now he can add "author" to his list of accomplishments. He has written a book titled "The Comeback Coach". It tells of his 40-year journey from the sandlot baseball fields of his youth to his 2015 induction into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame. You will learn of his career as a multi-sport coach and a special education teacher.
As for the comeback, it deals with his dismissal from the Bethlehem baseball team after a long bureaucratic struggle, and his Phoenix-like resurgence at La Salle Institute of Troy.
Jesse will be signing copies of his book on 11/16 at the Bookhouse in Stuyvesant Plaza, beginning at 5 pm.
