More Arizona and Florida action

MSBL Arizona is the largest mens baseball event in world , (followed by its eastern version in Florida). As such it accommodates multiple age divisions. Our 55+ team Arizona performed with heart coming up just short of their goal. Others are, or will be in action soon. The afore noted 45+ Albany Yankees organized by Lex and Mike Surins Albany Capitals 50+ team will soon start games in Clearwater Florida.

Mike Girard did a great job recapping the action. I know these teams will continue that as they have in their past tournaments. Several players have hooked up with others teams as well, I encourage them to keep us "posted" if not let us know how their tournament went. One such venture got several Albany players the coveted RING prize last year. A check of that repeat effort on MSBL's site and tourney newsletter shows me that Albany CDMSBL Alum and National MSBL HOF inductee Ted Poleto's Inland Angels are set to play as I type in the 60+ Championship game after a narrow one run victory in the semis. Besides Ted, several other Albany area players are on the squad. I wish them success.

As Lex earlier urged, these national tournaments are not to be missed. They feature teams from all over the country and in fact other countries. each age division is further divided by talent so theres a place for everyone. We started going down to Florida in 1993 and got hooked on it. Success at first was measured by just winning games and then by making the playoffs and then eventually by championships. Our league has had its share of success. 4 championships and 2 finalist and numerous semis. Still others go for the experience and more baseball. it won't let you down. The tournaments once attended will draw you back. either as a player or a part of a building team. I urge more participation by everyone. not just the present teams and players but new age groups. They have the age and skill bracket for you. If you have questions on how to organize or put together a team see one of the current tournament managers or me.

So go Albany! show them the quality ball and sportsmanship we brew up here.
