Fall Ball Series v. Massachusetts

CDMSBLers:

Tom Ingersoll from the Great Barrington Millers in the BABL has confirmed that he will once again field a team for a Fall Ball series against the CDMSBL. Last year, Tom sent over three really good teams and the CDMSBL provided good competition and won the series 2 games to 1.

This year, we're looking to play a competitive series again and we're looking for guys to fill the team rosters. Here are the specs:

All games on Saturdays: 9/30, 10/7, 10/14
All games at 1:00 p.m.
All games at CHATHAM LITTLE LEAGUE COMPLEX (confirmed with Don M. of the 45+ Brewers)
All games are nine innings
$10 per player, per game (covering field costs and I will get umpires)
We will try to maintain a 30+ age bracket, but some of the Massachusetts players last year were 25+ because they don't have as large a pool of players to draw from.

Last year we had quite a few guys who were headed to the various fall tournaments in Florida and Arizona come and play and use this series for a warmup prior to heading out. Those who did play last year and went to tournaments found this series to be really helpful because Massachusetts puts a good squad out there. We also had a few players who were used as "tryouts" for the different divisions so if you have a player or two who you want to give a look to - especially at a certain position - let me know and I will provide that opportunity. Pitchers and catchers to the front of the line!

Please spread the word around the various division players and all free agents as well. We will be playing good baseball in October!

Nope. I will make sure those who show up to play do actually play. I do try to cap it off at 15 players per game but last year we ended up with about 13 per anyway.

I've already received a lot of hits so I will be starting to fill in my rosters today!

A quick heads up:

Spots are filling up and the 10/14 game is really starting to round out.

I have invited the free agents from the 33+ website in an effort to provide them a "try out" if any 33+ managers would like to come and check them out.

A quick heads up to 33+ Managers:

I have taken the liberty of inviting the players currently listed on the "FREE AGENTS" page of the 33+ website and a few of them have responded that they will be coming to the games. I am offering you an opportunity to come and take a look at them and see if there's someone that can help out your team in 2018.

Hopefully, we can get some more 33+ players to sign up so they can get a good look against the players they are likely going to compete against/with.

Still looking for players to commit to playing in Chatham.

As of right now, it's looking like the September 30th game will not be played and instead will be moved to October 21. We only have four commitments for 9/30.

However, we have 10 commitments for the October 7th game so far and 9 commitments for the October 14th game. I will cap the rosters at 15 players per game.

Lastly, a few of the "Free Agents" listed on the 33+ Website have committed to playing and using the games as a "tryout" for other teams. If you're looking for players in 2018, it might be a good idea to come down and check us out!
