On a misty night at New Scotland, the Platinum Marlins took control with 3 runs in the first, and never relinquished that lead,
as they advanced to the semi-finals with a 12-0 victory over the Cardinals.
The big blow in the inning was a two out 2-RBI double by John Corrigan.
Marlins lead-off man Scott Ross was 5 for 5 and set the table for the meat of the Marlins order all night.
Mike Girard pitched a complete game (6 innings) 4-hitter, while going 3 for 4 at the plate with a pair of RBI's.
Clayton Bouton played a great game at shortstop for the Cards, making 2 or 3 highlight reel plays.
The Marlins advance to the semi-finals, with the win, and will play the Whiz Kids Thursday night at New Scotland, in game 1 of the best of 3 series.
