Ed Draves hit a 2-out, run scoring single in the top of the 7th inning to lift the Whiz Kids over the Marlins, 5-4. Ed Klopfer started the rally by legging out an infield single, then stole second. On a 1-2 count, Draves lined one to right, and Klopfer's elusive slide just beat the tag. The Whiz scored 3 in the first, capped by Jim Preller's 2-run single. The Marlins answered with 2 unearned runs, courtesy of a John Corrigan double. They tied it in the 3rd on an RBI single by Jim McQuade that plated Scott Ross, then took the lead in the 5th on another unearned run. Reggie Flansburg doubled home Mike Kane (WP, 6-2) to even things up in the 6th, setting the stage for Draves's winning safety. Seemed like Ross was everywhere in the OF for the Marlins, robbing the Whiz of several hits. Here's hoping that Don Wixon is back on the field soon. He took a foul ball off the mask in the 1st inning, and as tough as he is, had to come out of the game.
Hey Donny baseball get back on the field soon.
Your a CDMSBL inspiration, and our game is better
when your on the field.
Congrats to another of my favorite people
Eddie Draves. My team would have faired
better w/o your heroics, but your such a
class act I love to hear you came though
in the clutch.
Excited about the big finish to our regular
season, playoffs should be a blast!

Donny is going to take it easy? I guess that means he isn't going to catch both games of a doubleheader. DW is like the ultimate prize fighter. He may go down, but he is never out. Heal quickly my friend.
