The Dirtbags and Black Bears played a very quick seven inning game in less than 2 hours before the rains came and the Dirtbags came out on the winning side 4-1.
Mike Godlewski went six innings for the Dirtbags' victory and Kyle Cetnar took the hard-luck loss in five innings for the Bears. Godlewski surrendered only three hits and a walk over his six innings while striking out four. Cetnar allowed one unearned run and carried a perfect game into the fourth when an error and a double led to his one run allowed. Cetnar ended up allowing a total of three hits and one walk while striking out five.
The Dirtbags scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth on a walk, back-to-back singles and a double to push the lead to 4-0.
The Bears would get their lone run on a walk and a deep fly ball double by Rob Bialkowski.
Bialkowski had the lone standout night offensively for the Bears going 2-for-3, 2B, RBI, SB. Jeff Friedman reached base twice going 1-for-2 with 2 R, ROE, RBI and Mike Godlewski went 2-for-2 with 2 2B and 3 RBI.
Up next for the 0-3 Black Bears is a back-to-back set with the Mets and Indians on Monday and Tuesday of next week and the 2-0 Dirtbags play the Warriors on Monday and the Padres on Wednesday.
Good luck to Barry, Jeff and the rest of the vastly improved Dirtbags the rest of the way. Dirtbags played with class as always.

It was a well played game with very few mistakes. Good luck to the Bears and it's always fun playing you guys. Better check your stat guy though because Jeff never batted and only played the field
