The league banquet will be held Saturday, March 25th. Herb Carter and his "18 Strings of Trouble" will be providing the musical entertainment for the party. The first round of music will be an acoustic set with the full band taking the stage for a night of dance-able rock and roll. A highlight of the evening will be other members of our league joining Herb and his band to lend their musical talents. So far we have two guitarists, a bass player and a couple of drummers ready to go.
But ..........
I can't believe that in our population of 400+ players along with their wives and girl friends that we don't have a singer in the crowd! Or a sax player. Or a keyboard player. Or a harmonica player.
So, come on! Shake off those inhibitions, loosen up those vocal chords, tune up that ax! Join the fun!
In fact, I'll make a special offer. If someone's wife or girl friend will sing either "Million Reasons" by Lady Gaga or "Angel from Montgomery" (the Bonnie Raitt/John Prine duet version) their ticket will be on me.
