CDMSBL competing in the 50+ division

Just to fill in the gap between 55+ team that was very successful in Arizona and Lex's 45+ entry in the Fall Classic, Mike Surin is leading a strong team into the 50+ competition in Clearwater beginning November 5th. Joining Mike from the 45 Blue Jays are John Weber, Chris Abrams, Mike Kocienski, Tim Borwick, Bob Hiller and Pat Alston. The Shaskys will be represented by Tim Burns, Jimmy Tesereiro and Don Ball. Mike Cleary of the Black Sox and John Cortese of the Braves will round out the 45+ division. Bob Yakatan of the 55+ Cardinals will bring his young legs to roam those king-size outfields. We will be joined by two players from Colorado.

Wish us luck.

Good luck Don!
...and thanks for all of your efforts with Fall Ball.
The workouts and scrimmages that I participated in were a great help in preparing me for the World Series, in Arizona.

Hey Guys,

You will be playing my DC Mustang team on Wednesday. I already know the pitcher my coach said he was saving for you guys. It should be a good game and I think you all will be able to hit this guy pretty well. Hes a junk ball pitcher typical for a 50+ division. Its always hard to play against Albany but I truly will be just as happy if you guys win or if we win. Its such a great honor to even be playing at our ages and the memories will last the rest of our lives. I hope others will read this and decide to join the travel teams that play in the National tournaments. Its such an amazing experience and hey, ya never know, you might even get to play with or against one of your favorite retired major league players.

Thank you Joe! .... I figure the DC team and the Puerto Rico Royals the following day will be tough for us. . We are going to do our best on the field, going for the W! ..... but also continue to show respect that our other Albany teams have represented our league with.
