OK. OK. One question at a time! I don't want to walk out of this session like some loser quarterback!
The first function of the meeting was to confirm the season plan for the 33 division. As part of that discussion it was confirmed that three teams, the Reds, Pirates and Colt .45s have merged to form one team (not sure but the team might be called Guns and Red Roses) and that Team Rake will be new to the division.
The draft for the 55 division will be held this weekend. The selection process probably won't take long as there are only six players in the draft pool.
There will not be a league banquet this year. So the twenty people that attended last year's event will have to find something else to do this April 26th.
There is discussion about starting a Saturday morning pick-up style baseball game for players 60 and over. I'm too close to this age group to make jokes.
CDMSBL will not be sponsoring a Labor Day tournament this year.
We will be organizing baseball events over the Memorial Day and 4th of July weekends. A group from Chatham has a team ready for the 45+ division and has offered their field for the Memorial Day weekend event. We will also use fields in the Albany area. At this point we will also have a 44 and under division. Teams will play two or three games over the Saturday/Sunday schedule. Details will be finalized based on the response to these opportunities.
