Clarybird : I hope Tommy meant Wayne Newcomb. I saw Wayne Newton in Vegas years ago, it was the most boring waste of $50 and two hours that I have ever spent. It would have been more entertaining to see Wayne Newcomb on stage singing and flirting with the old ladies. Actually, that wouldn't be a bad show, maybe Donny Ball could open with his comedy act then Newc could close things out with a solo "Jack the Knife" or a duet of "Loving You". I could see it. Maybe not the part where the ladies throw their under garments on stage, but the rest of it, yeah I could see it.
best wayne newton ever - if there is such a thing?
in 1986. matthew broderick in "ferris bueller's day off," lip synchs newton's "danke schoen" while riding on a parade float before about 10,000 beer-juiced chicagoans in the annual von stuben day parade.
it's a great movie, really funny, though ron, i'd buy it if you said, newton's voice ruins the film for you. you know, hear the voice, and suddenly there are images of flying garments and floating $50 bills spinning, twisting in your mind.
oh, the horror! the horror!
but thanks for sharing that awful experience with us.

How bout the early controversy about Wayne Newcomb's gender identity. I think it was the fact he sang with a high pitch.I was too young to remember,Donnie Wixon told me all about him.
I've actually had a very similar dream Ron. Almost exactly the way you've described it, but the ladies we're indeed throwing their garments. Weird....And Tom, Ted already called me, which you probably know by now.
