hot and humid but exciting day with seeds 1-13 undecided. congrats Giants on wrapping up the regular season title. and tip of the hat to the Blue Jays and Royals on securing the bye status. Now the dog fight which is the double elimination tournament on the 9/12 and 13. I think just a great move for this division. 2 survive to join the top 6. simple way is to win three straight and a chance to play the Cubs in the Quarterfinal. Hard way is to win two then lose one and then win the last game. Hardest way is to lose one of two on Saturday and then have to win 3 in a row on sunday the 13th. all for a chance to face the Giants the next week.

Good luck to all in the playoffs. Thanks to John Kalinski for the Commissioners job. 110 games in something like 35 to go.

John - If I am reading your comment correctly I would conclude that the two teams remaining from weekend one will be reseeded based on their performance in the double elimination round. For example, if the Shaskys enter the weekend as the #7 seed but advance "the hard way" with one loss, they would become the #8 seed going into the second round. Is that correct?

You are correct. The team that goes 3-0 in the double elimination tournament is the 7th seed. The team that advances with one loss is the 8th seed.

John
Are the quarter and semi finals 1 loss and out? And the finals best of three?

Wrong John here but I can answer your question.

After this initial round all series are best of 3.
