Giants take Game 1 ...

Giants get 3 in the bottom of the 6th to eke out a 6-5 win over the Kelly's (Damn Yankees) Thursday night at the C Diamond in Schenenctady.

Don't have the book, but one of the key hits was Tony Nardacci's double down the RF line that put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs.

Ralph Caputo went the distance with a gutty performance to earn the win and capped it with an ESPN highlight to end the game.

With two outs and none on, the speedy Tim Brown dribbled one up the third-baseline. Ralph bolted toward the line, backhanded the ball, spun and threw an off-balance strike to first to nip Tim by half a step to end it.

John Webber pitched a great game for the Kelly's, holding the Giants to 3 runs on 6 hits over the first five innings.

Game 2 of these 55+ Division finals is set for 5:45 Monday at New Scotland Town Park on Swift Road.

This promises to be another nail-biter.
