With only two days remaining and 5 games to play we only know that the Giants clinched in June and the Yankees in early July. The 3-8th spots are still up in the air. bottom line what's at stake is who among the Americans , Whiz, and Cardinals will be 3rd , 4th and 5th; And then who will be in the 6th , 7th and 8th spots among the Hawks, Peppers and Marlins,,,though the Marlins cannot finish 8th, the other two can finish 6th, 7th or 8th. With a one and done first round these seeds are all important. good luck and we'll check back in Thursday and Friday. 55 commish JREEL.
....and another day didn't make it much clearer. Whiz beat the Americans, I think the Twins beat the Peppers ( it was 8-2 in the bottom of the 7th ) . have not heard on the Giants /Cards. Last day features Twins vs Peppers and Marlins vs Americans.
Been a long strange season that comes down to the final day. but congrats to the Giants for repeat reg. season title. and for that matter to the runner up Damn Yankees. See you tomorrow...
Yes Mike. Giants won 18 to something. Skip was filling in for the Cards and took a horrible hop in left field that completely swelled his eye shut. Hope your feeling better Skip.
3 way tie for 3rd , Cards were 3-1 head to head, Whiz 2-2, Americans 1-3.
tie for 7th between Peppers and Twins. they split 1-1- head to head , had equal number of "quality wins"
(3), but Twin allowed less runs in those games.
good luck in the playoffs, the schedule is on the 55 front page.
