With the MLB Blue Jays riding an 11-game win streak, the CDMSBL 45+ version began their 1-(that's one) game win streak with an 8-2 victory over the Cougars in the late game at Satellite Field on June 14.
The Cougars took a brief 2-1 lead in the top of the third before the Jays moved ahead for good in the bottom half. For the Jays, Rich Garbarino was in control on the mound, yielding two unearned runs, four hits and a HBP over six innings, while striking out nine cats. Mike Aiello led the offense going 3 for 3 with a BB, 2 runs, an RBI, and a SB. For the Cougars, Frank Montagano and Pat Biel were generally effective on the mound, though provided too many free passes. A clutch 2-out hit by Mike Hamilton led to the Cougars two runs.
On Saturday, the Blue Jays will meet the Shaskys, who no doubt look to avenge their loss to the Jays earlier this season.
