The Royals had the New York Giants on the ropes first thing sunday morning. The Royals outplayed us through 5 innings. They hit, ran, played defense better than us. Then, for whatever reason, the sleepy sleeping Giants woke up.
Ron Smaka tied the game in the bottom of the 6th with line drive single. Mark Dabney brought home Jim "The Rookie" Hicks with the game winner in the 7th with a just fair smash down the third base line.
Jimmy K and Pete Geannelis pitch much better than the 6 runs given up.
John Atwell did a nice job on the hill for the Royals. Gene Hallenbeck got into one middle of the game with his new RAKE R099 .....2 run mashed potato.
