The Whiz Kids defeated the Marlins 8-4 Monday night, in a game called after 6 innings due to darkness. Chris Abrams went 5 innings pitched, allowing 2 unearned runs. The offense was led by Brian Musella (1-2, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Dennis Buckley (1-1, 1 run, 2 RBI), and Anthony Torre (2-3, 1 run). Bill Pelton's 2-run single gave the Marlins a 2-0 lead in the top of the 3rd, and the Whiz Kids responded with 4 runs in the bottom of the frame, taking advantage of 2 walks, a hit batter, and an error. They added 4 more in the 4th on RBI's from Musella, Buckley, and Ed Klopfer. John Corrigan had a 2-run single in the top of the 6th for the Marlins. Next up for the Whiz Kids will be the Twins on May 12th.
