The Commish of Parks & Rec called this morning to say they can't get Legion Field playable for Saturday. That would have been the final Saturday that we were under contract. They extended the offer to Nov. 1, but I declined due to the 10-day forecast.
My understanding is that we will use Swift Road at 11 a.m. Sunday. If someone can confirm this, it would be much appreciated.
I am not quite sure why you would decline the November 1 slot. As you say, we are under contract, meaning we were contracted a certain number of dates, and, if at all possible, we should use that number. Sometimes a unilateral decision must be made, but in this case I think it was not called for. If it is possible, I would ask you to contact the Legion and say you have reconsidered the offer. Thank you for you work in getting the Legion field for our use.
We didn't contract for a specific number of dates. We contracted to Oct. 25. And we didn't even use it the first two weeks. They don't let anyone on the field after Oct. 31, which is this Friday. John Gustin Jr. would have made an exception to this if we really wanted it. But when I saw the extended forecast, which calls for a high of 45 degrees and 50% chance of rain, I just thought it best to decline.
