45 playoffs A & B division first weekend

September 6th:

"A" DIVISION:

CENTRAL PARK B: GAME ONE : REDS/BOMBERS 3:00 PM

NEW SCOTLAND: GAME ONE: MARLINS/GIANTS 2:00 PM
GAME TWO: GIANTS/MARLINS 4:30 PM (IMMEDIATELY AFTER GAME ONE)

Central Park is not available because the field is used by SCCC earlier in the day. 3:00 is the earliest we are allowed on. With sunset at 7:13 on these days, two games are not able to be played. At this time, other fields were not able to provide times or dates. New Scotland is being used in the morning by the local high school for a park event.

Niskayuna is available but not the actual times. Niskayuna should be providing times later today or tomorrow.

thanks for the posting, harold, and to those who put in time in setting up the 45+ playoff schedule.

but can someone please explain why the "B" playoff games, arguably the most important of the year, start at 10 a.m.?

most 45+ bodies (certainly this one) are not ready to sprint, throw and swing bats at 10 a.m.

and mainly, we're not accustomed to it. only about 10 percent of our games all year start at 10 a.m. - and those are too
early. but in their case, the crunch of the regular-season's schedule is an understandable reason. lots of games to get in,
and little time to do it.

so why the playoffs? the cougars-black sox are scheduled for two games, one at 10:00, the second at 12:30 at satellite
on saturday, sept. 6th. and on sunday, if needed, the cyclones-warriors start at 10.

why? who else will be playing there that day? if no one, couldn't those be moved up to 12:00 and 2:30? or 2 and 4:30?

i see the "A" division games don't start until 2 and 3 p.m.

thanks.

-mike

Mike - I guess each of us are different because i think there is nothing better than a 10 AM game biggrin I am up at 530 every morning and chomping at the bit to play so an early start is perfect for me.

If you read through the post about scheduling you will see it mentions that the fields are not available in the morning because others are using them. On top of that Mark Marshall was instrumental in getting us back on the B and C diamonds so it is only right that his teams use those fields.

Outside of that if you see a window for your games at other times that don't jeopardize getting them played that first weekend have your manager contact the opposing manager to see if he is game for moving them and then contact John Kalinski and see if he could work with you. As you know John's job is thankless and for every player that doesn't want to start early (you) there is probably one (me) who does want the early start.

At the very least get to bed early!
