Game 4 of this year's regular season game between the New York Giants and the legendary Marlins barely went to the Giants 5-4.
Jimmy Konstantakis pitched 4 strong innings and Joe Burns finished up the game after JK pulled a back muscle.. Mike Kane scored what would be the winning run in the bottom of the 6th inning. Pete Geannelis had a timely RBI single early in the game. Wayne Phillips had a long rolling triple scoring a big run for the Giants. Mario Arduini made a ESPN worthy catch crashing into the first base side fence on a pop-up to end the game.
Marlins highlights: Mike Ferraro had a couple of hits as did Mike Girard and Randy Craft. I think I got all that right. Mike G.,please correct any errors or omissions. Thank you.
Good game between two friendly rivals. No rain..........amazing!
Next week - regular season highlight .......New York Giants play in Cooperstown on Doubleday Field vs. Royals

Mr. Craft had a single and a walk in 3 at bats, but everything else you reported is accurate. Especially the part about it being a good game between friendly rivals. It was a very enjoyable way to spend a lovely Sunday afternoon!
I just wanted to acknowledge the outstanding defense displayed in this game. In addition to Mario's outstanding play to end the game, several other players really stood out in the field:
-Pete Geannelis set the tone defensively on the first play of the game by playing brazenly shallow in right field and throwing out Marlin leadoff hitter Tom Maney at first base after a sharp line drive to right field. Tommy...that's what you get for hitting the ball so hard.
-Doug Reisinger is as good as they come in left field. It's pretty impressive watching a guy his size cover so much ground out there. Outstanding running grab on Dave Mitchell's long drive to left center.
-Randy Craft had complete control of the left side of our infield the entire game. Lots of putouts including a sweet play on a ball up the middle which included an off balance flip to second base to end a Giant rally. He's really good.
-Mike Kane made a diving stab at 3rd base on a ball hit to his left. I didn't actually see the play but could tell by the reaction on both sides (and the blood dripping off his nose) that it was a tremendous effort.
