On a hot day Sunday the BlueJays defeated the BlackSox 5-0 on a pitching gem from John Weber and a strong defense which include one of the greatest diving catches that I have seen in my 25 years in this League by Paul Cooke off the bat of Dave Booker. It was heading in the gap in right center field. It saved a run and maybe more in a tight game. Tom Bradley and Paul Post led the BlueJays with 2 hits each and 2 RBIs.
In the second game, the BlueJays beat the Cyclones 9-2 behind the stellar pitching of Rich Garbarino and another strong defensive performance. Pat Alston and Rich Garbarino each led the BlueJays with 2 hits apiece and a number of BlueJays with at least one hit.
Good Luck the rest of the way BlackSox and Cyclones we'll probably see you in the playoffs.
The catch Artie spoke of would have been No. 1 in Top 10 plays on ESPN. As John Buck said when Kirk Gibson homered, "I don't believe what I just saw.''
