The big story..........nobody was killed or disfigured by an infield ground ball at the Satellite field during the course of the two games on Sunday (poor Tony Nardacci). And in other news..........The New York Giants defeated the Golden Marlins in the 2nd game of a late day doubleheader. I believe the score was 10-4 after 5 or 6 innings of play. Joe Burns provided another quality start for the Giants. Joe has been a very welcome addition to the Giants in 2014. I will leave game 1 highlights to home team manager Mike (Magic Mike) Girard.
Marlins Notables for the day: Tom Maney and Mike Girard had about 10 hits apiece. Skip Treece collected his 3000 CDMSBL hit in game 2. Randy Craft continued to defy time by making plays guys half his age can't make. Billy Smith also had a nice day at the plate.
Giants Notables.........pitching and defense!

thing i like about your game stories, steve, is that you don't leave out the funny stuff and you get to the main points right away.
and the neat thing is that the two are often the same: it's where funny meets money. (funny, except, i'd imagine, to tony. i hope he's ok.)
that's mix is not easily done, but darn entertaining to read when it is. plus, you put the scores up top, which means readers don't have to stumble through 13 lines of rocky prose to find out who won.
about two weeks ago, i wrote to say that i enjoyed one of mr. girard's summaries, for similar reasons. i anticipate his reply here. (don't mean to put pressure on you, mike.)
while i'm here, john corrigan gets a tip of the cap, too, for his many enjoyable one-liners, except, of course, the ones with fish in them.

Mike; Stevie Lou is also very humble. He neglected to mention the Grand Slam he hit in game 2 that sent my brother Shawn flipping over the left field fence!
hey tom - you're right. steve's gotta find a way to work in his own play, too, even when it's good and he wants to avoid boasting. but that's not easy. so that's where you come in, tom, rescuing the play and its funny part (not that shawn was likely laughing much.)
btw, what'd the bench judges give shawn's flip? 8.5? no, he's athletic. probably a 9.5. way to go, shawn.
