Beautiful sunshine and field conditions awaited the Blue jays and Reds at the C diamond for yesterdays 1:00 start....

The Reds were also awaiting their ninth player as finally the blaring music from Carrecia's Escalade, and Joe, arrived at 1:02...

Pitching matchup featured Chris Dunn for the Reds, and John Weber for the Jays, two quality pitchers who did not disappoint on this day...

Jays jumped on the board with two in the top of the first, that would be all they could muster the rest of the day...Reds answered with one in the bottom...
Score would remain that way till the 3rd when the Reds loaded the bases with no outs...It appeared Weber would escape unscathed when he induced a fly ball to left that resulted in a double play as the Reds runner was gunned down at the plate attempting to tag..However, a throwing error on the succeeding play plated two runs for a 3-2 Reds lead..

Things got dicey for the Reds from here on....Reds 1st baseman Will Ferguson roped a liner down the right field line, and perhaps thinking double, sprinted out of the box...while his hamstring had other ideas...With only nine players, Will stayed in and carried on..

Scarier injury in the 6th for the Reds. With runners at the corners and one out, Dunn stepped to the plate to try and tack on a much needed insurance run. A ground ball to 2nd ensued, and the Jays attempted to turn two..as Dunn hustled down the line, the relay throw from the shortstop short-hopped off the hard beam clay, passed 1st base man Pat Alston,...directly off Dunn's left eyebrow...opening a nice gash...
After a quick MASH unit delay..Dunn promptly went out and finished the game with an emphatic K to close out the 4-2 victory...

Great effort by Artie's Jays...probably the early favorites in the B division...
