Quentin Jensen is the baseball coach at Green Tech, whose team is in the AA boys basketball finals against Guilderland Monday night at the TU Center. It is a charter school.
Q is in need of some help. In order for him to get this baseball program up and running, he needs to raise another $1000-$1500 in the next month. He had a few sponsorships end up bailing out last-minute.
The money goes toward transportation, field rental (the school doesn't have a home field), equipment and uniforms (jersies, hats and pants).
If most of us contribute, Q will likely make this happen. He has enough interest from kids to have three teams, that's how badly these kids want to play. These same kids are trying to raise money as well. I'll start it with a $50 donation. These kids need a chance; and it will feel real good after you donate. Anything, $5? $10? Every dollar will help.
If interested, call Quentin Jensen at his new cell number: 518-221-6926.
Done! Let's join together and help out these budding baseballers! Q did a lot for all of us in his time as President. Let's help him help others find the love for the game that has been such a joy in our lives!
When my school (Green Tech) started in late August I decided I would see how much interest I could get stirred up if I started a Baseball Program at the school. After the 1st few days of school I had 30 kids start coming to my baseball practices over at the near by softball field as we do not have a field to use. During the winter kids would come to school at 6 am to workout and work on baseball skills. Monday's the 1st day of tryouts I will now have over 65 kids trying out for the teams. These are a great bunch of kids that are looking for the opportunity to play organized baseball.
The team and I have been going to local businesses trying to get sponsorships to fund our team. We are $1000 - $1500 short. Any donation will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you to everyone for your help with this matter.
