CDMSBL 55 Division players started play Sunday in the Hobbs 65 Vintage Division with Bill Kervan of the American National Wildcats (2-2) and Dave "Bones" Jones of the Boston Braves (3-1). Bill is pitching and hitting well rotating between the mound and first base and "Bones", rotating the same, is also hitting and pitching well. Going into Thursday's draw game, Kervan's team matches up with the Sacramento Solons and Jones against the powerful Ohio Classics in preparation for Friday's playoff start. Kervan with hometown 55 Division champ Damn Yankees and Jones of the 3rd place Americans could meet in the playoffs which would be an interesting match-up. Good luck boys.
Also this week, Wayne Newcomb and Eddie Rogers, with the CDMSBL 45 and 55 Divisions, are both playing and hitting well in the Hobbs 55 Legends Division with the DHBA Athletics and St Louis Grays respectively. Wayne has been up to his usual solid play at shortstop and hitting at the plate while making a pest of himself on base with his gutsy base stealing (go to the link below). Eddie has been rotating between the mound and left field while hitting well. Waynes's squad goes up against the Carolina Rockets and Eddie's against the South Florida Suns Thursday's draw game in preparation for the playoffs beginning on Friday morning. With 42 teams in the Division, the two team managed a match-up on Tuesday afternoon with Wayne's team getting the best of Eddie's team 10-3. They matched up at one point in the game, Eddie pitching against Wayne. Again - good luck to our boys.

What better can be had than to play with and against your hometown buddies in sunny warm-weather Florida with the weather turning chilly here at home. (Wish I was there - next year ?)
