Well deserved congratulations to all!
It's pretty good when your 55 All Stars also deserve to be on the 45 All Stars!

Great Season Guys!

Let's see,
The manager of the d. Yankees takes his team from a third place standing in the 55 division and wins the league championship in very convincing fashion.
The manager of the first place team takes his team from first place and finishes third, and then wins manager of the year.
Tell me how this makes any sense.
The fact that the manager of the yanks did not win manager of the year is a joke.
You fellas should be ashamed of yourselves, but I know you are not.

There are always surprises in these awards. Players are left off that should be there and players put on that should not be there. The system is what it is. Untill somebody comes up with a better idea this is what we are stuck with. I have a hard time understanding how only 1 American player made all league. We had some deserving players such as Mike LaBarge who is probably the best catcher in the division, also Jim Wing who plays everywhere well and plays hard all the time.

So it is what it is more of a popularity contest than anything else. Lets try to come up with a way of making it better.

Fellas,
I don't begrudge anyone who won any award, as things are what they are. To not take into account what happened in the playoffs is a travesty,as the regular season and the playoffs are not exclusive from one another. This is just my opinion guys, nothing to get anybodies panties in a bunch.

And Ernie Banks should never have won the MVP award, right Pete? What did he ever do in the playoffs? Great reasoning. Jim Porter-WhizKids

Don't know what that has to do with anything, but I'm sure it makes sense somewhere. Good luck with that.

I believe all awards are based on the regular season. The Cards won the division for the 3rd straight year and lost only two games. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Thnx.

I believe CDMSBL does it that way because that's what MLB does. Can a batting champ or the Cy Young or MVP or the all-division team be based on just the playoffs? The Manager of the Year in MLB is based on regular season as well. Just my penny thoughts, Petey. Hope you get healthy enough to get back on the field in 2014.

I sincerely hope that I can get back on the field next year. As far as my earlier statement, it is my opinion and stands on its own. Apparently you and the other "Jimmy" are trying to make it seem as if the regular season is all that counts, and the playoffs have no bearing on the outcome for individual awards. That is pure nonsense,as they are an extension of the regular season which determines the top team and the players or managers that take their teams to the top. Otherwise, why bother with playoffs? I wonder what the voting for manager of the year would have been if the whiz had won the league title? And if you would like to take your logic one step further, why didn't john latorre win the bill jones award as top pitcher in the league? He was on the best team and had the best record, so he should get that award, right?

Guess MLB has it wrong. too, then.
LaTorre was 6-0 with a save and an ERA of over 4.
I was 6-0 with a save and a 2.1 ERA. Plus, I could have been 8-0, but we failed to hold leads after I came out of games when we had the lead. In one game, we actually blew an 8-1 lead after I came out.

Just giving you a reasoning, not patting my own back. I don't really care much for the awards, which I have expressed many times.

Think I'll put this to rest now. I originally just wanted to let you know the awards are based on the regular season. I don't make the rules. Just giving you an explanation.
