Cubs pound out 17 hits in 5 innings in 18-3 win over the Reds.


All 10 Cubs to bat in this game had at least one hit and reached base at least twice in a 18-3 win over a short handed Reds team.
The Cubs pounded out 17 hits (6 for extra bases) and worked 10 walks in scoring 18 times in 5 innings.
A red-hot Bobby Poulin led the way with a double, 2 singles, a walk, 4 runs scored, and 2 RBI's.
Mike Girard had a double, triple, walk, 1 run scored and 3 RBI's.
Dave Mitchell and Mike Ferraro both had a double, single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
Randy Craft and Jon Martin added two singles each.
Phil Gadomski pitched 4 innings of shut out baseball, giving up just 3 singles, with no walks and 2 strike outs.
The Reds got singles from Jim Bonaparte, Tim Burns, Brendan Hogan and Dan Robbins.
The Cubs move to 15-2 on the season and are scheduled back on the diamond tonight at Albany Central BR against the Rays at 6:00 pm.
