Yeah Mike Here's My Opology You Requested

Mike, I opologize for during a rain storm that lasted an hour before gametime and forecasts called for rain throughout the day that the game be postponed. I was requesting what any rational person would do and even the umpires felt the same way.

I opologize for watching you and other Marlins push mud off the pitchers mound and use Central Park's Teradry to make mound playable without permission which could have cost us the field for future games this year and the next. We are fortunate to
have had a player in the league who ironed this out for us.

Yes Mike, this was your lucky day!! The rain somehow stopped and you went on to win by the grace of God or was it the grace of a poor call by the ump which cost us the tie in the game. But bottom line is you won and we lost and you were able to beat up on the Cougars to even your record to 6-6. Yes Mike, pound your chest. You won and your luck continued as we had someone to smooze over the Central Park administrators.

I hope you like the opology you requested.

Artie G.

Thanks for the correction, but that was intentional.

I like reading grown bitch about play again that we are making millions to play. OOPS sorry, we aren't making millions, I was wondering why I didn't get my check yet.
I want to win as much as the next guy, but this pissing and moaning is part of the reason a quit for a while. This game is supposed to be recreational for us. What do we get for winning, oh ya bragging rights, well guess what those days are over for me, you guys and everybody else in this league. We are a bunch of old guys trying to live our childhood again, and until we realize that, this is the kind of bull****( and that is what it is) that will keep happening.
Now , I think everyone needs to kiss, hug or shake hands and play this GAME for what is, a game. Or if you can't do that, then stop playing and grow the F*** up.

Well said Chris ....... You obviously get it ..... when the umps called that stupid grounder that ended up in the area where the gates didn't close right and it was called a double in the seventh inning of our game and we both commented .... "it's 7-2 with one out in the last inning let's just play" it was refreshing to hear to say the least biggrin

Artie and Mike ... i was not commenting on your issue by any means - i don't know anything about it and it is none of my business .... just telling Chris it was great to see him not make an issue over a questionable call and just move forward in our game when it could have become more of an issue.

You ought to bottle that "whine," and call it "Sour Grapes."
You may want to get the facts straight before you start this with me.
I simply did what the commissioner approved for us to do, which was do everything we could to get these make-ups in, without damaging the field. I called Scott and got his approval before we ever touched the field. I removed a little mud from the front of the mound, and put it on the back of the mound. We used a little Turface on the front of the mound and a little around first base, and then had the umpires check the field. They were in complete agreement with trying to play.
As far as the umpires call on the final double play, yeah it was a blown call, but you failed to mention the blown call by the home plate umpire on your steal of home in the first inning. The two calls washed each other out. Have another glass of whine.
After the double header was over, I returned the mud that was moved to the front and raked and tamped the mound, leaving it better than I found it. End of story!

Hey Mike,

I guess I just drink from the same bottle of whine as you. That play at the plate wasn't even close.... but if it makes you feel better then great. As for getting games in... you use common sense to determine if you play in the rain and potential harm to a field we have no authority working on ...not to mention their material as Mark found out when his buddy got the call.
So don't act like you where doing this for the good of getting games in to appease the league. You can play that card all you like. I will always apologize when I'm wrong, and this was not one of them. Now let's stop using this forum as a debating
tool. Only reason I even responded was because you asked for my apology.

I just heard a rumor that since Mike Girard has been taking such a beating on the bulletin board this season, he has decided to permanently change his name to "Carlos Danger". - Mike Clary

Ya, this is the real eyebrow raiser of this whole discussion.

Why do you think Mike's so upset with the call. I stole it standing up!!!

By the way, Mike Clary I think you've done Mike an injustice with that picture. Mike's mustache has more character.

Artie, my old friend - when it comes to character, no mustache in the CDMSBL can hold a candle to your lipholstery.
