This stat can't be true ...

The top five states for beer consumption per capita are North Dakota, New Hampshire, Montana, South Dakota and Wisconsin, according to the Beer Institute, a trade organization. North Dakota drank about 45.8 gallons of beer per resident 21 and older last year, the institute said. Per capita figures do not include residents under 21 years old.

Meanwhile the states that consume the least beer per capita are Utah, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Kentucky, according to the institute. Utah residents drank about 20.2 gallons of beer on average last year, according to industry data. ...

WOW. I'm shocked at Montana since no one lives there. Whoever does, must be drunk all the time.
I can understand the Dakotas: They're stuck indoors 11 months a year!

On the other side: Utah? OK. A religious state. Kentucky? Most drink that Kentucky clear - and it ain't beer! But New York? So many people with no money for hard stuff 'cause of all the taxes we pay, which would, you might think, drive us to drink!

They keep stats like we do ~ NOT very accurately and thru a totally subjective lens...
Didn't I just see someone else post Twain's old quote on here recently?
"Three kinds of lies; lies, damn lies, and statistics"

True not just in baseball, but you can imagine the fun I have when people in my profession start yapping on about "evidence-based practice"???
Nothing less accurate then psych stats as they are the epitome of bull-malarkey, yet others in my profession drone on and on about it as if it were factually based...
Needless to say, some don't like me very much...
But many others LOVE me for saying the obvious...

And so it is in life...
Now let's get drunk right here in good ole NY!
And say your prayers with me as follows...

"Our Father, which art in cyberspace
Harrowed be thy Name.
Thy followers come.
Thy will be done
On the bulletin board
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily posts.
And forgive us our comments
As we forgive those who comment against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from the stat evangelists
For thine are the followers,
The likes, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Ah meme."

from Facebook God w/a little variation

Jim,
This is a easy fix. We need to drink more beer.

I think those stats are accurate Jim. If you haven't noticed four out of the five top states are in the "polygamy belt". I have one wife and I keep a six pack in the refrigerator at all times. If I had 3 or more wives, I think I would need a keg. no
