Not exactly Lee Brice's version, but still a "Parking Lot Party"!

Funny that I hated country music growing up in Alabama, but now it's my genre of choice... Heck, my dad owned a country station in Dadeville, Alabama (home of Barbara Mandrell and her sisters for all you fans out there ~ all 2 of you!) and he even had to fire me one summer when I was dj'ing for him and kept sneaking in Michael Jackson and The Kinks, etc (hey, it was the early 80's!) because I told him it was hurting my brain to listen to that stuff...

Anyways, the Highlanders and the Padres played a shortened 5 inning game due to a mix up on the umpire situation and venue change involved, thus not starting until about 1845 hrs... And boy what a gorgeous, hot, hazy, and humid 104' day (that's what the car thermometer said at game time) that also reminded me of summer's in Alabama, we all played a little ball, got a few hits, threw it around a little bit, ran around the field, and then both teams then got together for a some dogs and "sodas" afterwards...
With the "heat lightning" going off in the background and eventually the fireworks from the ski show @ Jumping Jack's, fun was had by all and there was nothing but love for game and being able to get out and do what we love to do...
Thanks to the CDMSBL for giving us the opportunity to do this as dang we are some lucky guys to have this league available to us...

As for the game, not sure exactly, but we (Highlanders) won something like 11-5, 11-6 maybe, not positive of the final score... Doesn't really matter except that we all have to get seeded for the playoffs... And as they grow near in the 35's and start to take shape, we wish nothing but the best of luck to the Padres and everyone else >>> but mostly to ourselves of course!
Especially since it appears there could be some real fireworks and a surprise or two with all the parity...
I wouldn't be surprised to see ANY team from the 35's in the Finals as there are no real "freebies" on the path this year...
We'll see soon enough as it's gonna be F-U-N!!!

Whaddya mean "all two a ya' ...''

I'm one of 'em dang country music dudes, dude! Florida-Georgia Line rocks.

Funny story, too, speaking of country music. Giants played the Royals in Cooperstown a couple/three weeks ago. "Parking Lot Party'' commenced at Glimmerglass State Park (OK, not a parking lot, but you get the idea) with both teams celebrating the great game we had just played at ol' Doubleday Field.

Matt Kelly introduces me to his first cousin and his first cousin's wife, Mary Ann. We start talking country music. Turns out, she is the mother of the two guys in Gloriana (Wild at Heart; Kissed You; Can't Shake You; Wanna Take You Home ...).

Very cool!
