GMs: Please note Rule 8-3 below. Pay particular attention to the red copy. If you borrow a player and fail to tell the opposing team's GM, then don't blame the GM of the team you failed to inform if he rejects the borrowed player. The blame falls 100% on the GM who is borrowing the player. The rules are posted on the front page of our Web site. Thanx. JimK
8-3. If a GM determines he will not have enough players to start a scheduled game, both General Managers must agree to a resolution so each team has nine (9) players to start said game. A team can borrow an age-eligible CDMSBL registered player to meet his needs. This player can be vetoed by the opposing GM. The Commissioner must be notified and he can veto any agreements. The General Manager of a team showing up with eight (8) players can borrow a player from the opposing team if said opponent has more than nine (9) players. The opposing General Manager has the right to veto a borrowed player.
An assigned/borrowed player will be a starting player and play a complete game. An assigned/borrowed player cannot pitch. An assigned CDMSBL player should be age-eligible for the Division for which he is being borrowed. A GM can veto any borrowed player move. Players cannot be borrowed during playoffs. Borrowed players must be approved by the opposing GM prior to showing up at the field. Borrowed players cannot hit higher than 6th in the batting order in the 35 and 45 divisions. No other restrictions apply. [spoiler]

This could fall under a unwritten rule in the 55 div. I know in the past I would always bat a borrowed player lower in the line up as a courtesy to the other manager for letting me borrow a player. I think the 55 division should adopt the rule as the 35 and 45 divisions do.
