The Shaskys continue to play solid baseball and earned a quality win against the Black Sox in the morning game at New Scotland. The Shaskys amassed 12 hits and 9 walks in the contest including a critical, bases loaded, two-out pass to Ramond Bidot that gave the Shaskys a 5 to 1 lead going into the 6th. The Black Sox battled back in the top of the 6th and had the tying and go-ahead run on base before the Blue defense stiffended. The Shaskys scored an important insurance run in the bottom of the 6th to take a two-run lead. After two quick outs in the seventh, the Black Sox put runners on 1st and 2nd. Tesoreiro emptied the tank and got a high fly to Dennis Lane to seal the victory.
Tesoreiro was battle-ready on the mound notching six Ks while allowing only two hits. But with an uncharacteristacally high ten walks, he got help from the Shaskys defense. Steve Hughes in RF and Jon Bricetti in CF tracked down several long line drives. Melendez, Bricetti, Ball and Briscoe each had two hits for the Shaskys.
Next up is a big game with the Royals on Saturday afternoon.
