There was a three-way battle between the Jays, the Shaskys and Mother Nature as the start of the game was delayed by thunder. The Blue Jays entered the game thin in their pitching ranks as both their starter and their reliever had pitched in recent 55 games. The Shaskys had their ace, Jim Tesoreiro on the mound fresh from a week off and primed with bullpen sessions with his son. Still, Bob Yakatan singled and scored in the first to give the Jays an early lead. The Shaskys scored 4 in the second on singles by Tesoreiro, Ball and Seney along with a walk to Hughes and a nice sac bunt by newcomer, Harvey Stalter.
Thunder caused a mid-game delay but blue skies allowed us to finish. The Blue Jays mounted two late-game rallies. For the second consecutive game, the Shaskys faced a one-out, bases loaded jam. Once again, Tesoreiro induce an infield fly and a ground to squash the rallies. Can't quite piece together how we scored our final two runs but I believe our lead-off duo of Tony Melendez and Jon Bricetti were involced as they continue to create scoring opportunities for the Shaskys.
Dennis Lane pitched a scoreless 7th to cap the victory.
