45 Yankees move to 3-0...

On an overcast but still gorgeous Saturday morning before Mother's day, the Yankees beat the rain in a 14-2 fashion against the previously undefeated Shasky's. The basic story line was hitting, hitting, and more Yankee hitting... And of course some Yankee defense...

The Lexter put his new Rake R007 to good use as he quite possibly earned himself the spokesman role for our favorite bat company by debuting his newly made wood with a 5 for 5 day. Yep, you read that right, 5 for 5! 4 RBI's, 2 SB's, and 3 runs scored were the rest of his line for the day as he is obviously a MAJOR addition to Yankee line-up...
The Yankees mighta just found themselves a lead-off guy after all!

Donnie Dunham and Rick Caruso continued their torrid starts and both extended their hitting streaks with a couple solid ropes, Mike Reutter had a 2-run double off the right-center field fence and a 3 RBI day, John Sheehan had an RBI line drive up the middle, and John Kalinski had 2 hits and 2 RBI's... Not sure exactly what else except that Rich Royka and Kevin Jackson also had solid hits as not 100% sure but I think everyone in the line-up either had hits (many had multiple a multiple hit day), knocked some runs in, or scored some runs...

John Kalinski pitched 5 nice innings and Kevin Jackson closed out the 6th in 1-2-3 fashion before the Yankees scored 3 more unearned runs after 4 consecutive Shasky errors to end the game on the 12 run rule...

New additions Dean Little and John Timpano led the Yankee defense as John made a beautiful shoestring catch in LF on a sinking liner and Dean needs to be introduced to Sade because uh yeah, he is indeed a smooth operator out there, regardless of what position he is playing... Yanks only had 1 error on the day and continued to play solid D...

Next week is a biggie as the not only undefeated, but very formidable Reds are on the dance card for what is sure to be a beauty... Looking forward to seeing Dave and his guys as the Reds are real Championship contenders with their extremely talented line-up...
