Yep, you read it right ~ Like I said, new and improved with a couple new young studs!
Recap goes something like this:
We won a 4-3 nail biter... On the offensive side: Gary "Hoscko" Bosko is just a serious stud, that's all there is to it! Hit one off the fence in dead center (AGAIN!) to get a first inning rally ramped up after Shaymus Schwietzer got it rolling with another sharp single (another young 35 year-old stud!) and Jack Griffin (50 year old stud) walked... So instead of leaving em loaded like we did in the first the other day against the Cubbies, we plated three when Dan Tarullo hit a clean single to left and knocked in 2 more after Gary's drive to center... So yeah, considering we only had 3 runs all year, getting 3 in the first was definitely a good sign! Gary roped yet another one down the line for another double in the 4th and Dan Tarullo AGAIN knocked him home with another clean single...
For them J.J. Janetsky (sp?) went 2 for three with a double and a smoked HR that towered over the LF fence to make it a 1 run game... Uh yeah, he's a stud too! And Tony Parella also went 2 for 3 and just missed getting one out that was a double which would have scored the tying run, except the guy got punched out at home on a bang-bang play... Again as everyone already knows, Tony's a stud who can put a charge in the ball when he connects...
On the defensive side: Jeremy Barnes pitched 6 outstanding innings and only gave up the 3 runs... He gave up 6 hits, walked only 1, and had 2 k's... A stellar performance for sure and his first W in the 35's as he came up from the 25 Dodgers... The play of the game in a game which featured several sparkling defensive plays was when Tony had hit one to deep center as mentioned above and CF Bill Hamel made a perfect relay throw the aforementioned studly Hosko Bosko who promptly threw to 2 hop strike to Rob Currier who made a nice, clean tag on a sliding Yankee into the plate with what would have been the tying run on a bang-bang play... Jack Griffin made a diving stab on a line-drive at third and Dan Tarullo also had a great play at third on a throw from the pitcher when a runner ran on a come-backer that the ump gave to us on another bang-bang play that was "questionable," though not by me! Some go your way, some don't and thanks blue as they did a helluva job in a fairly crisp, generally well played game by both sides...
For the Yankees, the Lexter pitched a CG and looked his usual good self doing it, just didn't get the breaks in this one is all... Only gave up 6 hits, 2 BB's, and had 4 k's... Paulie Post made an outstanding play at 3B and Tony Parella made a Sports Center worthy highlight reel play as he made a sliding catch on a foul pop near the first base dugout, it was pretty...
Long way to go and it's always good to get the first on the left hand side of the W-L column... The 35's is definitely a tough division this year as there are no gimme's for anyone...

JJ Janetsky - the Yankees shortstop - played a hell of a game defensively last night too. If he plays like that on a routine basis, this league might want to consider that the position of SS on the all-league team is a LOCK for JJ Janetsky - he was just plain awesome last night.
Oops, Janetsky, sorry man! Yeah, definitely a stud... Lex said he's actually a CF, but as with most studs, can play anywhere... And hitting, wow? That was a no-doubter bomb he smacked, huh?
If he plays half as good a CF as he does SS he makes a great CF as well.
And the homer was about a no-doubter as you'll get at Bob Moore. That one was hit hard. The Highlanders' stupid-ass catcher called for that pitch too. He should be fired for not reading the scouting report. Whoever he is, that guys sucks...
