The Golden Marlins looked like a team that had just spent 5-6 months without any infield practice in Sunday's opener vs. the Yankees. Hell, we looked like we had never taken infield practice before!!! With the Marlins holding a 4-1 lead after 2 innings, the wheels came off! The Marlins committed four errors and the Yankees sprinkled in 5 singles and a double to plate 8 runs (7 unearned) to take a 9-4 lead. The Marlins committed two more errors in the 4th to lead to the Yankees 10th run, and they committed 4 more in the 7th to lead to the Yankees 11th run. The difference in the game was the Yankees defense. They committed just one error and turned 3 double plays. A great job by that defense on a "challenging" Satellite field infield. All in all, it was a very forgettable game for the defending champs. The Good News is that it is only ONE game. The Yankees and GM's meet twice more this season, and hopefully we will give the Yanks a better game the next two times.
Rick Royka and Rick Caruso led the Yankees 9-hit attack with a 2 for 4 performance each. Tim Brown was 2 for 2 with a walk, a double, and a single to pace the Marlins offense. Darren Ambridge threw a complete game 6 hitter for the Yanks, to get the win.

Long way to go, it's a long season ~ especially at our ages... And uh yeah, the Marlins are the defending champs for a reason and as everyone knows, a perennial powerhouse... And Randy did make a play on a grounder up the middle that made me go "Wow," practice or no... That was web gem for sure... I've no doubt you'll get it together and be looking forward to getting us again down the road... Of course, I'll be an interested spectator next weekend when you play the Giants as uh yeah, that promises to be a good one, huh?

You never cease to amaze me! Just when I think that you might be getting it, and you might try to get along with others, you post this garbage!
And you wonder why people don't vote for you for all league awards...it is because you are an idiot that tries to antagonize others at every turn, even your own teammates. Even if you were worthy with your ability (and 1 for 4 doesn't get you there), your complete "unlikeability" would keep you from getting the necessary votes. Try getting along with others first, then a real assessment of your ability (or lack thereof) would be a great second step. Reality might then become a part of your life.
The Marlins always have among the most "reached on errors" in the stats every year (check for yourself). There are 3 or 4 teams annually that have NONE!!! Your allegation is a complete joke! To accuse us of padding the stats is ludicrous, and points to your dementia. Please get some help. Dr. Ansel is a fine Psychologist, and I am sure that he will be willing to help you with your issues . . . for a fair price of course!
As for your poorly veiled threats about hitting me tonight in the Cubs vs. Highlanders game, I am LMAO!!! You couldn't throw your fast ball through a tightly strung piece of wet tissue. How is that supposed to scare me! Not to mention that if you do "bean" me, after posting it here on the BB, you probably will be facing a stiff penalty (at least a suspension)! You know . . . the code of conduct that you signed and all. You really aren't too smart are you?! See you tonight Marky!

There you go Mikey, there you go, that's what I'm talking about, be a man! And in case you YOU don't get it, being liked isn't exactly your forte either...
And it was no threat at all ~ I simply said I will try to throw inside strikes (unless I was lying and just messing with your head and might actually work the outside corner)??? You do cease to amaze me, that's the difference... Your old boys club days of dominating the 35's and 45's is over ~ THAT'S the reality of it all...
And just as an aside and to further the point, damn you are the one who's obviously not too bright if you can't figure out that getting hit by a pitch, reaching on errors twice (one by YOU), and a 2 RBI single on a rope is 1 for 3... But a 1.000 OBP and a 1.000 Scoring % as well! I dunno, maybe you never learned to count that high correctly, but again, I'm sure if it you were you you'd be touting how you were 4 for 4 (again because you obviously can't count) and how great your team was ~ despite the fact the other team made so many errors everyone had a hard time counting (except when their batting average was concerned of course)...
And well, there's no arguing the FACT thats of an OBP, or a scoring %... Which doesn't really matter that much to me personally, but the 11-4 score does! So yeah, easy to say who won the first round...
And if you were half decent about it all, then well, I might not have posted... Or just left it at my first one as I am sure you'll beat the lower teams such to be there NEAR the top at the end... But AT the top???
Now that is the real question, isn't it?
And my final line is that if you weren't so narcissistic, you would have been able to read that it is about muuchhh more then just me and you... But I guess you missed that part... Maybe you should some of Marcus's meditations?
Nah, nevermind... See ya at 1745 hrs! Maybe we can kiss if you trim your pornstache a little before game time? Or does this just mean we'll never be friends on Facebook now???

This dick-swinging contest does bring to light a topic I've been trying to address for years (as the website administrator).
It is downright EMBARRASSING as a league to have two differing accounts of each game in the boxscores. EMBARRASSING. We need to come up with a way of codifying the scoring in this league - not just the 35's, but all divisions. For each game, I received accounts from both teams (most of the time, anyway) and they never agreed in any game in the three years I did the website for the 35's.
We have to find a way to equitably apply errors and hits in the scoring books if we're ever going to truly give out merit awards based upon numbers. If you leave doubt in any way the awards are meaningless. All teams have, at one point or another, been accused of inflating stats (some teams more than others) and the only way that's ever going to go away is to agree on scoring in the books.
What that also entails is now holding players accountable for the errors they commit. We need to track defensive statistics as well as offensive and pitching statistics. This may mean that some guys will have less-than-appealing fielding numbers, but it would lead to a much more accurate account of the action and statistics that we can all agree on.
Maybe after these simple steps are taken we can stop accusing each other of inflated statistics. Until then, let the accusations continue.

Ok, wait, I am telling the story of this game from a completely different angle... Timmy's lead off bloop that Donnie dropped was an error, not a hit... Funny how the scoring around here works because it was a bloop in which the 2nd baseman (Donnie) got to easily and it landed in his glove only to fall out... I have no clue how anyone with any baseball knowledge saw that as a hit... No wonder word around the league is that is how Marlins always win batting crowns by padding stats as that play would certainly lend credence to such... That is not to mention the other post season awards as they are an even bigger joke at this point, but maybe that'll change??? Doubt it, but maybe...
And uh yeah, the fact that you dropped a ball TJ threw to first on a slow roller I nubbed down the 3rd base line was only exceeded by the fact I got to be the pivot on the DP you hit after I plopped a ball into the Satellite sand pit at first base on a throw to first... Looked just like a bad golf shot dropping in a bunker... But the DP on you was as good as holing it out too, so it all worked out... Point about that is that I know it was an error on you and I did not take it as hit in the book though that's what our original scorer had it as and I had him change it...
Plus, while the Yankees was a total team effort in putting a solid beat down on the Champs, there is no question that if a lead-off hitter is 4 for 4 on base, scores all 4 times, and ropes a bases loaded single to plate 2 RBI's and make it 4-4 at the time, anyone who can count sees that is not only more then half the total of the 11 runs in the thrashing given to the Champs, but that's the definition of leading the offense... From any viewpoint, but yet you neglect to mention me, curious indeed... Not that I really care as I do not, I'm just pointing out your obvious lack of baseball IQ if you actually think that... Prolly why I'll never make an all-league team ~ you and the other managers voting for your buddies and instead of guys who can actually play baseball... Labanowski, Randy, and Cintron are the only guys even in a real conversation with me about SS, yet none of us is on there and several guys I have never even heard of are??? An all league with either no SS, or the 5th best one in the league, lovely...
We all make errors, we all strike out, but the lack of remotely standard scoring leaves any of the post-season awards as complete joke to anyone who knows anything about baseball and the Marlins lead the league in making everyone laugh (and cry) because of such as this...
But make no mistake, I'm definitely not on the crying side of things, quite the contrary ~ I'm calling you and ALL the other 45 managers out to have decent scoring for a change as hey, that thrashing the other day was indeed just one game, but it's the beginning of a long, ugly season for you if you guys don't improve dramatically... I know, I suffered through one last year and have no intentions of doing so again this year...
The time for being nice is over as this is going to be the Yankees year as we added 3 absolute studs and I am more concerned with the Giants then you guys since the Giants added significant talent to their already potent line-up as well...
So there, now it's the 2013 baseball season!
And even better is we get to continue today at Kuhn Park as I am giving myself the hill against you guys in the 35's, just for fun...
Let's get it on! Just don't crowd the plate, because I have no intention of letting you extend... Then again, I'm not exactly a control pitcher either, so who knows??? But I trust it'll be as much fun for you as it it for me... Or maybe not, I don't know you well enough to say for sure, but anyways ~ see ya in a couple hours...

Ok, NOW it's Baseball 2013!
Wow, amazing, I can do that too... Hell, might make grand poobah status doing it!
