The Shaskys beat the Cougars 5 - 1. Well pitched game by Jim Tessoriero of the Shaskys and Mark Denicola of the Cougars. The Cougars showing up with only eight players did not help their cause.
Yes, both pitchers threw plenty well enough to win. The Cougars with only 8 players (2 outfielders) would have benefitted form a 9th hitter instead of the automatic out that was recorded every time the 9th batter was to hit. All in all, a very good game and closer than the 5-1 score indicates.

John - Shouldn't the match-ups be Giants v. Yankees and Dodgers v. Shaskys? The Shaskys finished as the 8th seed and the Yankees were the 9th seed.

i talked to Scott yesterday - we are shooting for 4 games at 10 then 4 games at 2 (or something like that)
fields are still being determined.... but ideally we play 4 followed by 4 versus having people play at 9 then have game 2 at 12 for some and 3 for others ... it would be a more even playing field if some teams don't have a three or four hour layoff
