CDMSBL, I want to thank all who worked on the planning of this year's holiday tournament. With a last minute exodus from one team, that threw a wrinkle into the game plans and I know what headaches can come from that! I appreciate the efforts of Tommy 'Keg Head' Smith and his accommodating us as much as he could, especially on Championship Sunday when we had to play 3 games. Congratulations go out to Steve L. and Team Rake. Having to play the All Stars from CDMSBL was a big challenge, one that we were ready to take on. Unfortunately for us, the two prior games we played at New Scotland was our worst enemy. The field itself injured two of our stronger players (our team's MVP of the tourney was unable to play after he was nailed in the head with a bad hop grounder at shortstop). It was a great weekend, one that allowed me personally to see and hang out with my New York baseball Family! I hope some of CDMSBL's players can make the trip to Portland next July 4. Thanks for the great times guys! I'll see you again next year for the 20th Labor Day Northeast Regional. -Lenny
Lenny, I knew you would rise to the occasion and fight the good fight. Gone our days when Herbie Friedman would soften up the noreaster crowd with a late night, pre dawn game, celebration on the town. sometimes it worked most times it only got you salty dogs all stirred up!? Okay it worked once!. needless to say you currently make our 45 tounry. that it took a strong and all star type team to wrestle the title back here is a testament to your own teams chemistry and strength. and I know its a much harder row to hoe for the visiting teams than the homies. May the Albany/Maine baseball tango live on. we'll always go to Maine. chasing that illusive title. and for the lobsta, the lobsta and the sea air. but mostly for the friends we've made. Ps sorry the injuries. hope all's well soon.
