Game one: Dodgers 2 Cubs 1

The Dodgers rode the right arm of Jim Shook to a game one victory on Wednesday night.
Shookie gave up just one run on a handful of hits, no walks, and 6 strike outs. This is simply amazing because he was bothered all night with a sore right arm. Sore from some ridiculous pitching last week, saving the Dodgers necks against the Hummnbirds.
He is simply a marvel. I am sure that if the Cubs are able to even the series with a win tonight, we will see Mr. Shook back on the bump.
Jonny Martin was almost as good as he gave up just two runs, and those were aided by a couple of errors.
Phi Gadomski came on in relif of Martin and got the Cubs out of a jam in the sixth.
I don't have the book, but neither team was able to solve the opponents pitcher(s).
Jim Keegan had a solid double, as did Carlos Llera, whose double was the big hit in the 2 run second inning Dodgers' rally.
Bryce Cutler had a solid line drive single for the Cubs. Most of the other hits in the game came because the infield grass was 4-5 inches long and slowed the ball down enough to allow some infield singles.
I hope that there is somebody that we can call to get the grass cut before tonight's game two.
When we got to the field last night, it wasn't dragged or lined and the grass was really long. No fielf prep was done at all.
Aren't we paying for this field? I hope we don't pay too much!
