Would like to say good luck to the Whiz Kids and Cardinals for making the finals for the 55 Title. Should be a very good and competitive series. Two very good teams. Come out and see some very good baseball.
Since our beloved manager is not so organized, I can tell you that the Whiz advanced to the finals with a win over a very short-staffed Amercians team Friday at New Scotland. Final was 7-3.
Game 1 of the finals Mon. nite at NS did not get played to completion due to darkness. After 6 innings, Cards led 14-8. Whiz overcame a 9-1 deficit to close to 9-8 before the Cards scored 5 more in the 6th to increase the lead. As of now, the 7th inning will be played Wednesday night prior to the regularly scheduled game.
By rule, all playoff games must be played to completion unless impacted by the mercy rule.
