The Golden Marlins would like to extend their sincerest thanks to John Reel and Pete Westfall for working so hard in the heat of the day yesterday to make the Voorheesville High School field playable. The both worked dilligently to add enough water to the dust to give the pitchers and batters some solid footing, and they did a commendable job! I wouldn't have wanted to see what this field would have been like if they hadn't donated their time and effort on our behalf!
Thanks for beating me to the BB on this one, Mikey. I think perhaps we all take John Reel for granted and expect that he'll be at the forefront of helping this league in more ways than we can count. He is the face of CDMSBL. That's why he's in the MSBL National Hall of Fame as well as our own. And he doesn't get enough thanks. But Westfall isn't even playing anymore because of health issues! To see him out there was nothng short of being the selfless person he is. Maybe a little reckless, but giving that effort on a sunfilled, hot dry day? No words of thanks can be expressed deeply enough.
