The Dodgers faced off with the Shaskys on Sunday morning with Kisselburgh facing off against Tesoriero.
Dodgers strike first in the top of the 1st on when Newcomb walks, steals second and advances to third when Corrigan reaches on an error. A stolen base puts runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Hicks follows with a sac fly to drive in the first run, Kanellis singles to drive in the 2nd run and Caputo follows with an RBI groundout to put the Dodgers up 3-0.
Shaskys answer with a run in the bottom of the first on a leadoff single by Bricetti and singles by Tesoriero and Lane. Shaskys cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the 2nd on singles by Hart, Briscoe and Bricetti.
After a scoreless 3rd the Dodgers score two on a single and stolen base by Kanellis followed by an RBI single by Caputo who scored on a couple of errors. Shaskys put the first two runners on in the bottom of the 4th on a single and SB by Careccia followed by a Hart walk. With no outs and runners on first and second the Dodgers bring in Duncan to put out the fire. The first batter he faces hits into a fielders choice to put runners at first and third. After hitting the next batter to load the bases Tim Burns singles to drive in a run and bring the score to 5-3 after 4 innings.
Dodgers go scoreless in the 5th and the Shaskys add a run on a Ball walk and stolen base followed by a Hart single to make it a 5-4 ball game after 5 innings.
Dodgers get that run back in the 6th when Hicks reaches on an error, goes to second on a fielder's choice and while stealing third goes home when the throw goes into left field to extend the lead to 6-4.
Shaskys go 1-2-3 in the 6th. In the top of the 7th it appeared that the Shaskys starting pitcher who had thrown a gem ran out of gas ..... Duncan leads off with a single, Field walks, Bonaparte hits an RBI double followed by an Obertubessing RBI double and an RBI single by Labarge to add 3 more runs and take a 9-4 lead.
The Dodgers had Kanellis, Duncan and Labarge with two hits .. Shaskys had Bricetti and Hart with two hits.
Dodger move to 9-3 on the season.
