55 action Friday at NS

Two heavy hitters in the 55 division went at it Friday night at New Scotland. The Damn Yankees and Nolan Propane Cardinals squared of for their final game this season, with the Cards coming out on top 7-5. Two verteran pitches went the distance for each team,John Latorre for the Cards and Bill Kervan for the Yanks. The Yankees scored 4 runs in the first against 1 run for the Cards to take an early lead. The Cards came back with 4runs in the 2nd inning to go ahead by 1 run.Yanks then answered with 1 more in the 3rd to tie the game at 5 each. The Cards then added 2 more runs , one in the 4th and the final run in the 5th. inning. The Cards and Yankees are now tied for second place in the 55 division with 8-4 each. One thing I hope the league will consider for next season is having 2 umpires like the other divisions. The 55 divison plays just as tough and hard as the other divisions , and they take the title very serious. An extra set of eyes on the field can only help the game. I am not complaining about the umpires we have, in fact, I think they are some of the best, but two sets of eyes is always better than one.
