Giants top Cyclones

Mark Dabney homered twice and singled to back the 2-hit shutout of Jim K and the Giants improved to 5-1 with its win Saturday at the Satellite field.

The Giants had several players with multiple hits and RBIs.

Just wanted to add that Ron Smaka had 4 hits, including a triple, Mike Labanowski had 4 hits, including a triple, and Tony Nardacci and Jim Whitford each had three hits. We had Stevie Lou, his mom and family in our hearts.

Sorry Read, but I was remiss by not saying that you have improved your team immensely. Don't go by that final score. I believe you were missing Pat Alston and possibly others. But what you had in the field were some very good players. As usual, this game at any level comes down to pitching and defense. You are a pitcher or two and possibly another solid stick from competing for the top of the division's standings. For me, and most importantly, your collection of players are class guys and it's a privilege to be on the field with them. Keep recruiting, keep up the good work and good luck the rest of the way.
