Vets started the top of the 1st with two singles by DeMaria and Zimmer and DeMaria scored to go up 1-0. Dodgers answered in the bottom of the 1st with singles by Newcomb and Corrigan who scored on a 2 RBI single by Dave Reed who then scored on a Caputo single to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead.
After a scoreless second inning the Vets leadoff hitter Petrino is hit by a pitch and later in the inning Zimmer reaches on a fielders choice. Singles by Koster and Hartman later in the inning led to 2 Vets runs and a 3-3 tie going into the bottom of the 3rd. Dodgers answer right back with a run in the bottom of the inning on singles by Newcomb and Corrigan to regain a 4-3 lead.
Dodgers go up 7-3 in the bottom of the 4th on singles by Hicks and Obertubbesing along with a couple of Veterans errors and increased it to 9-3 in the bottom of the 5th on singles by Moreno and Newcomb followed by an RBI single by Corrigan and a sacrifice fly by new Dodger Darrell Duncan.
Vets added 2 in the top of the 6th on a couple of Dodger errors and a single by Atwell and then 1 in the top of the 7th on another error.
For the Dodgers Jim Hicks started and chucked 3 followed by 3 from Kisselburgh and Duncan threw the 7th. Offense was led by Newcomb, Hicks and Corrigan all with 3-3 days, Reed with a 2-3, 3 RBI day and singles by Caputo, Obertubbesing, Labarge and Moreno and a sacrifice fly by Duncan.
